The Whitehot Motorsport Lamborghini driven by Jason and John White has taken out Targa Tasmania 2012 and in doing so clinch the 2012 Australian Targa Championship.

After the longest Targa Tasmania in the event\\\\\\\'s history John and Jason in the Whitehot Motorsport prepared Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale have taken out the 2012 event and secured the Australian Targa Championship for 2011/2012.

Things were not all to plan with a blown engine on the media day and an overnight engine change just to make the start.

Prologue day was uneventful and a good shakedown and eventually the team was rewarded with fastest time of the day.

The car was proving a fast and reliable package over the first couple of days and a steady lead was gained. Thursday was a turning point with the arrival of our Super Sub Ric Kemp , tweaker extrordonaire , who worked his magic on the setup and made the car easier to drive , and so it proved he is handy after all !!.

Over the next stages the lead steadily grew and as challenges ended , Matt Close in the Audi crashed on day four and Brendan Reeves in the Mazda had problems. No such problems for the lambo which proved reliable all event except for a small misfire on the Strahan stage on day 5 which was easily rectified and after a big run on Mt Arrowsmith and a two and a half minute lead the second half of the final day was about getting to the finish in one piece ready for a big night of celebration. Second was Tony Quinn in his Nissan GTR and third was Jim Richards in a Porsche.
